Massicotte (born September 10 1951) is a Canadian Senator from his home province of the Senate Division from De Lanaudiere, Quebec. The senator was elected as a senator to his position in the Senate in June of 2003, on the guidance of the Premier Jean Chretien. On the 30th of October 2017 he was a member of his fellow senators in the Independent Senators Group caucus. He was previously part of his fellow members in the Senate Liberal Caucus. Massicotte is a member of the Senate Standing Committee on Banking, Trade and Commerce as well as the Standing Committee on Energy, the Environment and Natural Resources.

Massicotte graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce (Dean’s Honour List) in 1974 at the University of Manitoba. The following year, Massicotte earned the title of Chartered Accountant from the Manitoba Institute of Chartered Accountants working for the firm Coopers & Lybrand. In the following year, he joined an official part of the Ordre des comptables agrees du Quebec. Then, in February of 2005 Massicotte received the honorary title Fellow in the Ordre of Comptables and Accables that agrees with Quebec the highest professional distinction in recognition of his professional achievements.

Massicotte serves on the board of directors of Ste-Anne’s Hospital Foundation, and the Greater Montreal YMCA Foundation. Additionally, he is active in numerous other charitable and social organizations.
