Paul Chaffey is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on July 10, 1965 in Oslo, Norway. His birthplace was in Oslo as the student of the professor Patrick Nigel Chaffey (1938-2006) and advisor Arnhild Maehle (born 1945). He was raised in Baerum and completed the secondary education in Valler Upper Secondary School in 1984. While at Oslo’s University of Oslo he minored in political science between 1985 and 1986 prior to pursuing a minor in history from 1988-1989. He was involved with the Socialist Youth at a young age and was its county secretary from Oslo from 1984 until 1985. From 1986 to 1988 , he was the secretary for organizational matters of the organization’s nationwide. He was an active committee member for Baerum from 1983 until 1984, and in Akershus from 1984 until 1985, and then across the country from 1985 until 1990. From 1988 until 1990, he was the leader of the group. From 1986 to 1989 , he was an official on the central and national committees from the Socialist Left Party. He published two books during the period between 1986 and 1989: Lik rett til utdanning in 1986, and Gronn framtid? : var miljopolitiske utfordring in 1989.
In 1997, he quit politics and was appointed as an advisor at Statoil. After a brief period as the director for occupational health and safety as well as communication and strategy in the year 1999 his position was as director of Marketing from the year 1999 until 2001. In 2001, he was hired as managing director for Abelia, an employer’s association that was established under Norway’s national Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise. He was also the chairperson of the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs from 2002 until 2005. He was also as well as a board member of Europaprogrammet from 1990 until 1997 and also of Oslo’s University of Oslo.
As a result of his shift of profession, Chaffey has been known for his disdain for his former ties to the social movement. He has claimed that he was a voter for Labour during 1997. It was the exact year he resigned his term as a parliamentary representative of the Socialist Left Party, and during the 2000s, he began to vote Conservative. In 2008, he explained the reason for his switch towards the right resulted from his realization “that the market economy works” and even made a speech at the annual gathering held by the Progress Party where he praised its members.

Paul Andre Chaffey (born 10 July 1965) is a Norwegian politician and businessman, who was a member of the Socialist Left Party until 1997. He is currently the The State Secretary of Minister of Local Government Jan Tore Sanner and a partisan for the Conservative Party since 2000.
He was elected an official membre of Parliament of Norway in 1989 and 1993, and was a member of the constituency of Akershus. In the initial term, he was an active participant in the Standing Committee on Foreign and Constitutional Affairs as well as the Enlarged Committee on Foreign and Constitutional Affairs. In the second, he was the secretary of Standing Committee on Energy and the Environment.
