Anderton was born in Newmarket, England in 1962. His family relocated to Australia in the year 1965. He was always of a slim size. At 14 (and with a weight of 33kg and 72 lbs) He was diagnosed with a disorder that led to delayed puberty. He began weight training to improve his height, but was told the man would “never do well at it” due to his slow growth. Although his doctor was correct about his growth issues, Anderton was able, with determination to participate in bodybuilding competitions.

Anderton was a part of the 2009 Olympics. Anderton began his PT business. He competed again at Mr. SA, Mr. Australia, and Mr. Olympia. He was 47, he placed 3rd in the Masters as well as fifth overall in the men’s Open Short Class.

The year 2008 was a tough one for Anderton. Anderton did not participate in Australian competitions due to commitments at work However, having qualified for international competitions through his 2007 performances, he received an early entry to Mr. Olympia. He was a late entry into Mr. Olympia (no place) and the Mr. Universe Masters division (third place Masters) the following week at Corona LA.

Paul Anderton (born 1962) is an amateur bodybuilder from Australia who was awarded 1st placein the INBA In the INBA – International Natural Bodybuilding Association, Mr. SA, Masters 2007. Also, he is an entrepreneur as well as the creator of the “AMMP” training system.

After having competed for the first time in his 20s with modest success, but then having decided to stop competing in competitions that allowed steroids (the only competitions that were available that time), Anderton regained interest in competitive sports after finding out about that of the INBA The INBA – International Natural Bodybuilding Association. He was the director of judges for INBA SA competitions (Adelaide Classic and Mr/Ms SA titles) from 2002 until 2005. He was able to compete again in 2006 and was placed 2nd overall in the Masters division of Mr. SA, and consequently being invited to compete in Mr. Australia, where his score was fourth in the Masters division. He was later invited to participate for the Mr. Olympia contest. He didn’t place in the 2006 Olympia however he set a goal to return in 2007. He finished 2nd in the Masters of the 2007 Olympia in Thesonoliki, Greece.
