Rizzo is the coach in charge for the Barry University women’s golf program from 2004 to 2010, when she was appointed coach of The University of Miami.
Dissatisfied with the professional golf Rizzo was forced to leave playing on LPGA when he left the LPGA in. After having not played golf for a few weeks, Rizzo accepted an invitation to compete in an LPGA of Japan Tour event. Rizzo was awarded the event and thereafter accepted a one-year exclusion to play on the LPGA of Japan Tour. Rizzo was victorious in three tournaments at the LPGA of Japan during 1992 which brought her total victory total to nine.

Rizzo is a native of Hollywood, Florida. She was a college All-American in the University of Miami, among her most notable wins as an amateur include in the Eastern Women’s Amateur and Mexican Amateur in 1980. It was which was the year she finished second to Juli Inkster in the U.S. Women’s Amateur. The performance she had in the season of 1980 resulted in Golf Digest ranking her the No.1 female amateur in the U.S. In the following year, her victories include winning the North as well as the South Women’s Amateur at Pinehurst and she was awarded medalist honours in The 1981 U.S. Women’s Amateur. Golf Magazine ranked her the number. 1 collegiate player for 1981.
