Patrick (Pat) “Simms” Simmons (born 21st November 1974 ) from Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan) is a Canadian curler. Simmons was a member of both the 2014 and 2015 Canadian champion rinks, the later season as skip. As skip, he’s also been a part of Saskatchewan in four consecutive Briers from 2005 until 2008, and then again in the year 2011. He also represented Alberta twice in the Brier.
The year 2008 was the time that Simmons was able to steer Saskatchewan to a playoff position at the Brier in 2008, and finished the round robin in second position with a 9-2 mark. But he fell in the semi-final by an extra round to Ontario who was skippered by Glenn Howard.
Simmons would return to the Brier in 2011, throwing fourth stones for Steve Laycock. The team finished with a 4-7 record.
The next season, Simmons joined the Kevin Koe rink out of Calgary, Alberta replacing Blake MacDonald. [1] The team represented Alberta in the 2012 Brier, where they finished second. They played in the 2013 Canadian Olympic Curling Trials, going 2-5. The team made won another provincial championship in 2014. At the 2014 Brier the Koe rink defeated John Morris’ B.C. rink 10-5 in the final, giving Simmons his first Brier title. The team finished in 4th place at the 2014 World Men’s Curling Championship. It was the first time Simmons represented Canada internationally.
Simmons had a far more impressive record during 2007 winning 7-4. However, he was a bit late to make the playoffs again and finished in fifth position.
