Pam Iorio is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on April 27, 1959 in Waterville, Maine, United States. Pamela Dorothy Iorio (born April 27 1959) is an American politician and writer, who was mayor in Tampa, Florida from 2003 to 2011.

On April 1, 2003 she was elected the mayor of Tampa and became the second woman in history to hold the post. Her first term was mostly concerned with revitalizing the downtown and the economic revival of the city’s least-loved areas. Iorio has also been a huge advocate for the arts, and worked to create Tampa an important arts and culture center within the South. Iorio was also acknowledged for a dramatic drop in drug-related trafficking within the city limits , as well as an impressive reduction in major crime. Her second term was a success. Iorio promoted improved public transit and favored the multi- modal approach that included an elevated rail system. When she was the mayor, Tampa hosted a Super Bowl and was able to attract in 2012 the Republican National Convention.

Her book, Straightforward, was released in November 2011. In the book she draws from her own experiences and shares the skills and characteristics needed to become an effective leader.

In February 2014 Iorio was named as the President and CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, effective March 31, 2014.

On January 28, 2010, when Iorio welcomed U.S. President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden, Governor of Florida Charlie Crist, and Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink, all of whom came to the University of Tampa for a national “Town Hall Meeting” to announce federal funding for Florida High Speed Rail and other projects. Iorio criticized Florida Governor Rick Scott’s decision to veto the high speed rail project, claiming he did so “purely on ideological reasoning.”
