Patrick McCartin (born 19 April 1996) is an former Australian rules soccer player who was a part of St Kilda Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was selected as the first selection during this year’s AFL draft.

Tom, his younger brother Tom was picked to his team, the Sydney Swans at pick number 33 in the 2017 AFL draft. The two brothers played their first game against each one another in Round 12 of 2018 on Docklands Stadium.

McCartin’s 2016 season was cut short by injuries, including three concussions in three separate incidents. The first concussion occurred in the St Kilda’s round three victory over Collingwood in the MCG McCartin was kept from the team’s senior squad until the 9th round against Essendon. Concussions followed during Round 11, against Adelaide in Round 14 at Gold Coast and, finally, an accident against Nick Vlastuin of Richmond in Round 22 resulted in McCartin being injured by a broken collarbone. In the aftermath of this injury, McCartin was restricted to 11 games in the year 2016, and added the score to 14 in his total.
