Oum is one of the most popular and richest Singer-Songwriter who was born on April 18, 1978 in Casablanca, Grand Casablanca, Morocco. Oum El Ghait BentelSahrawy (Arabic:’m lGyth LSHrwy ) is also known as Oum (Arabic: ‘wm born on 18 April, 1978 Casablanca) is a Moroccan musician and singer. As a symbol of Moroccan tradition, her music blends jazz, hassani gospel, soul, Afrobeat, and Sufi influences from music in her songs.

Her debut album Lik “Oum” debuted at Casablanca in May of 2009.

Oum was invited to the UNESCO headquarters in Paris on the occasion of International Women’s Day to give a concert on 7 March 2012.

She was invited in June 2013 to take part in the Gnaoua World Music Festival in Essaouira (Morocco).

She was discovered at the time by Philippe Delmas who invited her to Paris. For the next two years she alternated recording sessions with performances with the band in Casablanca together with Brotherwood group. The year 2004, however, she wrapped with her Parisian experience in Paris.
