Osamu Nishimura is one of the most popular and richest Amateur Wrestler who was born on September 23, 1971 in Bunkyō, Tokyo, Japan. Osamu Nishimura (Xi Cun Xiu , Nishimura Osamu, born September 23rd 1971) is a Japanese professional wrestler, currently in the company of All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW) as freelancer. Nishimura was previously employed by New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) as well as MUGA World Pro Wrestling (MUGA).
In 2002, he joined forces together with Manabu Nakanishi, who was dubbed Gotch-ism but they didn’t win the championships. In 2003, when Nakanishi began to work more closely together with Yutaka Yoshie Nishimura became involved in an dispute with Minoru Suzuki who he fought in an MUGA-style fight that showed the scientific and traditional talents of the two wrestlers. Nishimura later joined forces with Hiroyoshi Tenzan, and together also won an IWGP Tag Team title the latter part of 2003. They defended their title until Feb. 2004, when they were defeated by Yoshihiro Takayama and Hiroyoshi Tenzan. Suzuki as well as Yoshihiro Takayama. While Tenzan was focusing on winning getting the IWGP Heavyweight title, Nishimura in a flurry was sent to the middle-card. In January of 2006, Nishimura opted not to renew his NJPW contract, and decided to leave the company completely. Then, in February of 2006, Nishimura along with his former MUGA teammate KatsushiTakemura participated at American promotions Chikara’s 2007 Tag World Grand Prix, which saw them advance to the semi-finals before losing to Milano Collection A. T. and Skayde. Then, he took part at the NWA Reclaiming the Glory tournament and tried to claim the NWA World title for a third time and fell in the opening match against Brent Albright on Saturday, June 2, 2007.
On the 20th of October in 2007, Nishimura revealed that he along with his trainee Manabu Soya have joined All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW) as full-time wrestlers not happy with the inconsistent MUGA World schedule. Between November 23 and December 9 in 2007, Nishimura was paired together with Masanobu Fuchi to wrestle with Masanobu Fuchi in the World’s Strongest Tag Determination League and finished the season with seven points (2 wins 2 losses, 3 draws) and finishing 5th overall. On November 7, 2007, Nishimura made a public announcement that he would join forces together with Dory Funk, Jr. in 2008. He also made a statement saying it was the case that All Japan is planning a retirement celebration for Funk.

Nishimura made his debut for New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) in April 1991 following a training session within NJPW’s Dojo with Joe Daigo and Tony St. Clair. He set off on a trip across his home country of the United States, entering the Global Wrestling Federation in Dallas, Texas, winning its Light Heavyweight Championship on August 26 before becoming the tournament’s final champion. The next day, Nishimura was one of eight people selected to participate in a contest to compete for an unclaimed NWA World Heavyweight Championship. In the notorious tournament hosted by Eastern Championship Wrestling (which featured the winner Shane Douglas throwing the belt down upon winning it), Nishimura was eliminated in the first round by Dean Malenko. In a later tournament held by Smoky Mountain Wrestling in November Nishimura took on Lou Perez to a draw and both were eliminated. Nishimura came back to Japan after the mentor of his Tatsumi Fujinami started an offshoot of the promotion known as MUGA (Selflessness) that was based on traditional catch-as-catch-can. However, the new promotion didn’t take off and Nishimura quit Japan time, focusing on the Otto Wanz’s Catch Wrestling Association, touring across Austria and Germany to win its Submission Shootfighting Championship.
The fighter was back in New Japan in 1998 and was paired with Shinya Hashimoto to fight to defeat New Japan’s Keiji Mutoh and Masahiro Chono who were the holders of the IWGP Tag Team Championship, but they did not win. Nishimura did not even get the chance to challenge IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kensuke Sasaki Kensuke Sasaki, in addition, Nishimura became ill later on in the year. Nishimura was not active until cancer was cured in 2000 after treatment. The year 2001 was the time he traveled back to America. United States again to polish his abilities in the Funking Conservatory in Florida, under the tutelage of Dory Funk, Jr. (whom Nishimura admired from watching the matches from New Japanese’s founding father Antonio Inoki). He exploded again, winning his FIFA’s United States Championship. After his return to Japan Nishimura’s shine was so bright that it merited an unrelenting push. In addition, he took home his IWGP tag team championships alongside Fujinami. But the bi- promotional duo comprising Mutoh as well as All Japan Pro Wrestling’s Taiyo Kea were growing and the two teams battled over the IWGP title as well as the AJPW World Tag Team Championship, both of which ended at the waist of Mutoh and Kea.
On March 31, 2013, Nishimura made his debut for Wrestling New Classic (WNC), defeating Zeus to become the number one contender to the WNC Championship. On April 25, he defeated Akira to become the second WNC Champion. A month later, Nishimura joined Akira’s villainous Synapse stable. On August 8, Nishimura lost the WNC Championship to Tajiri in his first defense.
