Oliver Preston is one of the most popular and richest Cartoonist who was born on December 21, 1962 in London, United Kingdom. Oliver Preston (born 21 December 1962) is an British cartoonist editor, publisher, the chairman of and founder of The Cartoon Museum in London.

In 2005, Preston collaborated with trustees and vice-chairman, Lord Baker of Dorking in raising funds for the construction of a brand the brand new London Cartoon Museum. He was delighted to welcome Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh patron of the Cartoon Art Trust who officially inaugurated the brand New Cartoon Museum at 35 Little Russell Street located situated in Bloomsbury, London on 23 February 2006. In 2014 , the museum welcomed 31,000 visitors per year and educated more than 1,700 adults and children with its Learning Programming.

In 2005, Preston created Beverston Press to publish and distribute his greeting cards, books, and printed limited editions. Beverston Press has published 8 books of comics collected written by Oliver Preston, and he has also illustrated 12 books alongside other authors.

Preston was employed for his time in City of London (1984-1995) and was later an agent for bonds at Lehman Brothers, which he was able to leave to become full-time cartoonist. His cartoons have been published within The Spectator, Punch Magazine and The Times and he developed and created the comic strip “Marvin Marmite” an advertorial for The Beano and The Dandy. He regularly drew in The Guardian Education supplement, The Polo Magazine and Cotswold Life. He was the cartoonist on a regular basis of The Field Magazine from 1996 until the year the year 2019. From December of 2019 onwards, he’s drawn cartoons every week to Country Life Magazine. Cartoons from his collection are part of collections of clubs such as Annabel’s Boodles as well as George and are in The Cartoon Museum collection. The first solo show featuring his work in The Addison Ross Gallery, SW1 in 1990. He also has also held shows in The Fine Art Society, Bond Street, London in 1999, as well as The Mall Galleries in London SW1 in 2014 and in 2016. From 2007 until now, the artist has shown his ski animations in the Gstaad Palace Hotel in Switzerland.

Preston is appointed on the appeals panel for The Cartoon Art Trust in 1990. He was appointed trustee in 1992. He was named chairman of the trustees’ board in 2001. In 1995, he established The Cartoon Art Trust Awards that are annually held, which honor British Cartoonists across the disciplines of strip, Joke, Caricature, Political and Pocket Cartooning Drawing an iconic British characters (Pont Award) as well as awarding the “CAT Lifetime Achievement Award”. Since 2003, he has held this award ceremony at The Mall Galleries. Since 2003, he has been a judge at the British Cartoonists Association Young Cartoonist of the Year Contest, which is held in The Cartoon Art Trust Awards in the categories of U18 and U30.

In 2018 Preston and trustees obtained new premises for the museum at 63 Wells Street, London W1 (Fitzrovia) and raised £1.08 million to fund the fitting out of the new premises which were designed by architect Sam Jacob. The museum reopened in July 2019.
