Olga Kharlampovich (born March 25 1960, in Sverdlovsk) is a Canadian-Russian mathematician whose work is in the area of group theory. Her title is Mary P. Dolciani Professor of Mathematics at the CUNY Graduate Center and Hunter College.

In her work as a student on the Novikov-Adian issue, she received in 1981 the Novikov-Adian Medal by the Soviet Academy of Sciences. She was able to give a negative reply to a question posed in the year 1965 by Kargapolov and Mal’cev, about an algorithmic decision-making process in the theory that underlies all finite group.

She was elected a Fellow of the American Mathematical Society in the 2020 class “for contributions to algorithmic and geometric group theory, algebra and logic.”

Kharlampovich has been awarded in the year 1996 the Krieger-Nelson prize of the CMS for her work on algorithmic issues that involve a variety of groups as well as algebras of Lie (the details of her work is available in the study paper she co-authored together with Sapir in the site for the prize). She was awarded the 2015 Mal’cev Prize (http://www.ras.ru/about/awards/awdlist.aspx?awdid=64) for the series of works on fundamental model-theoretic problems in algebra.
