After completing her studies in musical instruments in the Jazeps Vitols Latvian Academy of Music which culminated with an undergraduate degree after which she earned her master’s degree at Hochschule fur Musik und Theater Hamburg. It was followed by a course in the Royal College of Music (Artist Diploma course ) as an RCM scholar with Dmitri Alexeev) as well as the Royal Northern College of Music in which her piano teacher was Norma Fisher. Jegunova was invited to work as a presenter at the 2015 International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow, where she interviewed Vadim Repin, violinist and member of the jury, and Maxim Vengerov. She also broadcast live interviews with other well-known musicians at this competition.
On December 2, 2015, Jegunova launched a charity called OlgaRhythm which aims to support talented music students of any age and ability.

Jegunova performed at the Edinburgh International Festival which was highly praised by critics and audiences and was also featured at The “Noureev & Friends” concert performance at the Palais des congres in Paris and also in 2015 at an appearance at the Latvian EU presidency’s annual Burns dinner in Brussels.
