Nurcan Taylan is one of the most popular and richest Weightlifter who was born on October 29, 1983 in Ankara, Turkey. However, the court directed him to be placed in detention due to his “alleged crime’s nature, the evidence collected and feelings of anger it has inspired in the public”. The allegations first made news in the news media in September, after the three athletes conducted lengthy interviews to both television and newspaper channels. Dasdelen said to a TV news show that Ustundag was also in the practice to “beating” his charges, even going as far as to claim that the trainer was responsible for the suicide in 1999 that of his teammate Esma Can. The only consolation for Ustundag was from Taylan and she “accused” her three teammates of being lesbians. Turkish officials in the field of sports immediately initiated an investigation. Ustundag was under investigation in a similar manner several years ago, however the evidence was not conclusive. In 2005, the Turkish Weightlifting Federation did not permit Taylan to compete in the 2005 European Weightlifting Championship held in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Nurcan Taylan (born on the 29th of October, 1983, in Ankara, Turkey) is an Ankara, Turkey-born Turkish Olympic, world and European champion in weightlifting. The Turkish weightlifter is the holder of the world record for weightlifting, six European as well as one world records (and tied two other record in the world). She was barred in the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) after she was found to be positive for anabolic steroids Methandienone, for two years from on the 26th of October, 2011.

Only 1.52 m (5 ft) tall, she lifted two World and five Olympic records in the women’s 48 kg category at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. Nurcan Taylan is Turkey’s first ever female Olympic gold medalist.

Taylan was disqualified by the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) after she was found to be positive for anabolic steroids Methandienone for four consecutive years beginning on October 26, 2011. Taylan was not able to compete in competing in the London Olympics.
