He also studied at the Bat-Dor Dance’s School. After deciding to combine theater as well as teaching Meiri completed his studies with an B.A at Tel Aviv’s Education School and Theater Department (1980-1984). After graduating of Tel Aviv University Meiri studied at L’Ecole Internationale de Theatre Jacques Lecoq (1984-1986) and completed his studies with the Alexander technique as well as in the Laban Movement Analysis method. The artist is an independent theatre artist who is constantly seeking out an original language while instructing physical theater and focusing on creating an unique work. In 1987, Meiri co-founded the theater company Faubourg Teatron, along with Rivi Feldmesser-Yaron, and Walter Anichoffer (Austria). The group performed their play, Nashim BaPark (Women in the Park) at the Tzavta Theater in Tel Aviv, as well as at the Israeli Fringe Theater Festival in Acco and the Comic Theater Festival in Salzburg, Austria. In 1988, he co-created his cabaret HaMofa shel Rapunzel (Rapunzel’s Show) together with Rivi Feldmesser-Yaron Gal Friedman, and Gail Hareven. The show was staged by the Tzavta Theater as well as in a variety of theatres and festivals. In the year 1990, Meiri developed his HaAchim Grim Mesparim (Grimm Brothers Tell Tales) show which was staged regularly on the Beit Lessin Theater. He performed it with performers Tzvia Sharet as well as Gal Friedman. He also became famous in the field of storytelling on TV through the Children’s Channel.

Through time, Meiri has developed his unique method of telling stories using Physical Theater. He employed this technique when directing Shay Schwartz’s show, Tzeh HaHutza, Yeled Ra (Out Bad Boy!) in 1992 at the Teatroneto Festival for One-Person Plays in Tel Aviv’s Suzanne Dellal Center for Dance and Theater. He was a part of the festival in 1993, with the one-man production Momik in 1992, a reworking of David Grossman’s novel. It was with the direction of Daniella Michaeli. In 1994, Noam Meiri along with Yair Qedar founded the theater group Yesh Lo Milim Mishelo (Words of His Own). Meiri was also the director and performed in the show of the same title, which was composed of original texts written by Gay Israeli writers, along with the actors Itzik Cohen, Tzahi Grad and Hagai Ayad. The show was a first in Israeli Gay theater and following the popularity it enjoyed in Israel the show was later transposed into English and staged in the Edinburgh Festival in Scotland as well as different festivals throughout Manchester, London (1995) and then at New York and San Francisco. The process of preparing for the journey towards Edinburgh Festival, as well as the preparations for Edinburgh Festival and the trip itself were the focus of Erez Laufer’s documentary Edinburgh Lo Mehaka (Don’t Cry for Me, Edinburgh) . In the course of its Words of His Own tour Meiri taught a variety of Physical Theater Storytelling master classes in London and New York acting schools, and was a world-renowned Physical Theater and Storytelling teacher.
