Nila Aguillo is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on February 20, 1951 in San Isidro, Cabuyao, Laguna, Philippines. Aguillo was elected the mayor of Cabuyao after her husband had completed his term as the city’s mayor in 2004. In her administration, it was when the former president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo inaugurated the Southville Housing project for poor families that were forced off the railway tracks in order to allow for SouthRail project. Southville Housing project Southville Housing project is a 53.337-hectare resettlement site located in Barangays Marinig, Niugan and Banay-Banay, for families who were displaced by the PNR’s Northrail-Southrail Linkage project out of the railway tracks that run through Cabuyao as well as Makati City.

The Court declared that they were unable to prove the illegal and fraudulent acts that occurred in the voting process, counting the votes and canvassing of results during the elections of May 2010. Consequently, the petition was rejected.

Prior to seeking relief at the High Court, Aguillo and del Rosario were unable to prevail to an in- banc verdict by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) and in the Laguna Regional Trial Court on June 21 the 21st of June, the 21st of June, 2010.
