Nikki Ponte (Greek: Nike Ponte born on August 1, 1991) is a Greek Canadian singer who came to notoriety throughout Greece and Cyprus thanks to taking part in Greece’s final season the singing contest The X Factor, in which she was ranked third. Although she continued to be a part of the show she signed as a singer with Sony Music Entertainment Greece and was one of the six contestants chosen for the role of representing Greece during the Eurovision Song Contest 2011. Ponte participated in a national final in March of 2011 with”I Don’t Wanna Dance” as her entry “I Don’t Wanna Dance” however, she failed to take home the prize. The song later made it into the 2011 OGAE Second Chance Contest and was ranked 6th out of 21 entries.

After just a few months after moving to Greece after which she was granted Greek citizenship due to her Cypriot origins. While she was still competing she attracted the attention by the Greek Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (ERT) and was then sought out and accepted to sign with Sony Music Entertainment Greece. On the 11th of January, 2011 ERT confirmed that Ponte was one of six contestants in a final national competition to choose Greece’s entry to the Eurovision Song Contest 2011. The song she performed was “I Don’t Wanna Dance” in the national final , which took place on March 2 in 2011. However, she did not succeed in winning. The track was released as an online single in February 2011.

In 2010, aged 19 Ponte was a contestant on the Greek talent competition The X Factor at auditions held in New York City. Ponte received the blessing of the judges and was then invited to a bootcamp at Athens, Greece, eventually being selected for the live performances. In the course of the contest, she was one of the most likely winners and she would then spend her spare moment in the hotel working on her song. She was able to finish third.
