Nigmatilla Iuldashev (Uzbek Nig’matilla Iuldoshev Nigmatilla Tolqinovich Yuldos Russian: Nigmatilla Tulkinovich Iuldashev born 5 November 1962) is an Uzbek politician and lawyer who was Chairman of the Senate of Uzbekistan from 2015 to 2019. In the past, he was Minister of Justice between 2011 and 2015.
After the death of Islam Karimov, Uzbekistan’s first president, on the 2nd of September 2016 Yuldashev was to have been appointed acting President in accordance with the provisions of Uzbekistan’s constitution. There was however no formal confirmation that he had been appointed to the position and, within a couple of days, he suggested that the prime minister Shavkat Mirziyoyev (seen as many observers as Karimov’s possible successor) succeed him due to the former’s “many years of experience” and Mirziyoyev was appointed interim President following an agreement of the two chambers of parliament on the 8th of September 2016.
On July 21, 2011, He became Minister of Justice following presidential decree UP4323. He was Minister of Justice until he was elected to Senate in January 2015 at which point he was appointed as the Chairman of the Senate.

After having graduated from the law school of Tashkent State University in 1985, Yuldashev joined the city prosecutor’s office in Olmaliq. In 1991, he was an investigator for the Yunusabad District Prosecutor’s Office of Tashkent before becoming an investigator in the senior ranks and eventually a prosecutor within the Uzbekistan prosecutor’s office.
In 2000, he joined his first job at the General Prosecutor’s Office as Head of Internal Security Inspection prior to becoming an official in the office of the President in 2003. In 2006, he was appointed director of the Department of Tax and Money Laundering within the General Prosecutor’s Office, and in 2008, he was appointed the Deputy Prosecutor General.
