Nicole Kaczmarski is one of the most popular and richest Basketball Player who was born on April 30, 1981 in Long Island, New York, United States. Nicole Anne Kaczmarski (born April 30 2001) was an American former professional basketball player. An exceptional athlete in the high school level, she won an award of Gatorade player of the year Award, and was recognized as Miss New York Basketball and received a place on the 1999 USA Today All-USA high school basketball team. The colleges were heavily recruiting her, Kaczmarski eventually enrolled at UCLA and played a single season with the UCLA women’s basketball team, but had to take a break in her second year to address personal issues and health issues. Then, she transferred to the University of Georgia, but quit the school prior to the first practice of the team.
The year 2003 was the time Kaczmarski received a draft pick in the 3rd selection of the 2003 WNBA Draft as the last selection of her home town’s WNBA team which was that of the New York Liberty. She didn’t know she was selected until a close friend called to thank her. Kaczmarski was not selected for the roster of the Liberty’s regular season but she started performing professionally Europe. After that, she played brief time playing for the Los Angeles Sparks in 2005 before being released from the club.
Kaczmarski then left college basketball altogether and enrolled at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Afterward, she had brief stints with two WNBA teams, the New York Liberty and the Los Angeles Sparks. In 2011, she became a color commentator for basketball telecasts.
Despite her reaffirmation of that she was committed to UCLA in the early 2000s, Kaczmarski did not return to UCLA for her sophomore year. She decided to remain within New York instead. Kaczmarski was being afflicted by lyme disease as well as plantar faciitis as a result of an injury she sustained during auditions of the USA Basketball World University Games team. Furthermore, Kaczmarski had also been having difficulty adjusting to life outside of home. There was also a report that Kaczmarski had been accepted at UCLA against the wishes of her father. Then, in December of 2000 she formally asked for a release form to allow her to move to a different school. The letter was delivered to Duke University, the University of Florida as well as The University of Georgia and the University of Virginia. Kaczmarski was accepted as a student at Georgia as well as her dad helped in the change. After a few months, and just before the first practice of the team, she informed Lady Bulldogs coach Andy Landers that she wouldn’t be returning with the squad.

at UCLA, Kaczmarski started at point guard during the 1999-2000 campaign due to injuries to the regular player Erica Gomez. In the end, she was moved to the position of shooting guard. Kaczmarski was faced with some early-season difficulties which included a pair of defeats in December to Rutgers and UCONN when she returned back to her home in the New York metropolitan area. She did better later in the season, finishing with an average 11.7 score per game. She also setting the school record with seven three-pointers during the game against Washington State University. An Long Island native, Kaczmarski was first recognized nationally at Longwood High School which was where she was named the female High School Basketball Freshman of the Year in ESPN RISE. While reports suggested she was enrolled elsewhere for her freshman year Kaczmarkski’s dad, who was in the custody of the girl at that time not been able to sell his house on Middle Island and as a consequently, she was unable to enroll her at a different school. The team she played for led Longwood to a record of 10-2 and a tie with three other teams for the league championship and then fell to defeat in the semifinals of the class A Playoffs with Walt Whitman High School. Kaczmarski was also known as the nickname “Kaz” subsequently had a short time at Christ The King Regional High School together with the the future University of Connecticut and WNBA player Sue Bird. She played the majority all of high school basketball career at Sachem High School, where she broke records. She set a Long Island women’s high school basketball record of 2,583 points. During her high school years she was awarded as both Gatorade player of the year as well as Miss New York Basketball and was selected for in 1999 to the USA Today All- USA high school basketball team. Kaczmarski was extremely sought-after, and was offered other scholarships at Stanford University, the University of Virginia and the University of Florida, she chose to go to UCLA. One of the final games she participated in as a high school athlete was the All-America Women’s Basketball Coaches Association game. Kaczmarski’s college career and entry into college basketball was captured in the 1999 documentary Running Down a Dream.
After being waived by the Sparks, Kaczmarski reportedly continued to pursue a career in healthcare. In 2011, she returned to basketball as an analyst for the Cablevision channel MSG Varsity and for the St. John’s Red Storm. The following year, Kaczmarski became the first female athlete to have her jersey retired by Sachem High School. As of March 2018, she ranks third for most career points scored in Long Island women’s high school basketball.
