Nicholas Edwards, also known as Nikorasu Edowazu or Nicholas Nyk, is a Japanese- American actor and singer from Hillsboro, Oregon. He was the winner of Nodojiman The World’s Japanese singing contest Nodojiman The World, October 11th and October 7th 2011, broadcasts.

Edwards’ debut album, “Skies,” was released with the single “F Ga Uta Ni Naru”. It was available in stores on October 6, 2013. “Skies” was released in a double mini-album. It contained disc “Sky,” which included 5 original songs and three songs written by Edwards, as well as disc “Earth”, which featured covers of 6 Japanese folk songs. Later, the title track “Skies” was used in a commercial featuring Masuda Juku (Zeng Tian Shu ), a university prep school. It aired for the first half 2014.

Edwards sang and appeared in the jingle for the Lotte brand throat lozenge commercial that began in October 2013.

Edwards was raised in Cornelius, Oregon and was born in Hillsboro. Edwards is the youngest son in his family and has one brother. Edwards was raised by his father, who was the guitarist and vocalist in a local band. Edwards credits his father for igniting his love of music from a young age. Edwards attended McKinney Elementary School, and Evergreen Middle School. Edwards started studying Japanese at 14 years old, when he entered high school. He was soon hooked, and completed the four-year course in his Sophomore year. He graduated from Glencoe High School, Hillsboro. Edwards spent approximately 2 months in Japan during the summer 2008, visiting Shizuoka, Fukuroi and Shizuoka. This was his sister city, Hillsboro. In 2008 and 2010, he participated in the Japanese speech contest sponsored and won by the Portland consulate General. Edwards, who graduated in June 2010, moved to Tokyo, Japan to fulfill his dream of being a Japanese pop star.

Edwards was a participant in the “Nodojiman The World” singing contest. He has been an actor and singer on numerous television programs since then. He is the only performer who has appeared on every broadcasts of “Nodojiman the World” and the only contestant to win twice. Edwards was the star of the musical comedy “Hinomaru Dream” which was shot as an entry work for the fourth annual Okinawa International Film Festival. Edwards’ life was loosely adapted into the film, which plays on the humorous situations Edwards encountered while trying to achieve his Japanese stardom dream. In spring 2013, the film was released in theaters across the country.

Edwards’ first musical release was the indie EP ‘n/f,’ containing 5 cover songs and 2 original works, totaling 7 tracks. Edwards embarked on a promotional tour in March 2013 to commemorate its release, where he announced his signing with Warner Music Japan and plans to release his debut single on his 21st birthday, July 31, 2013.
