Neera Shastri is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on October 13, 1955 in New Delhi, India. Mrs Neera Shastri was conceived in Jodhpur (Rajasthan) on 13th October 1955. She holds a MSc in Zoology (with a specialisation in Entomology Ecology and Environment Biology) from Jodhpur.

She was involved in the organization of the National Conference of OBC Commissions and Secretaries-in-Charge of OBC Welfare Departments in central and state OBC Commissions. The Minister of Social Justice & Empowerment at the time, Dr. Sanjay Paswan, inaugurated this event. Jatia was addressed by Dr. Sanjay Paswan, the Minister of State for Social Justice & Empowerment at the time. She presided over the National Conference of OBC Commissions and Secretaries-in-Charge of OBC Welfare Departments of all the states and central in July 2005. This was addressed by S. Jagadeesan (Minister of State for Social Justice & Empowerment) and inaugurated by Meira, Minister for Social Justice & Empowerment. She also presented a paper at the conference highlighting the importance of categorizing OBCs from both central and state lists, maintaining uniformity in both lists, and increasing the creamy layer limit. This was later reviewed by the ministry. She suggested that artisans who are engaged in hereditary occupations be excluded from the creamy layer. The presentation also focused on OBCs’ educational empowerment.

She recognized the potential of youth in the country and has promoted various youth organisations. In 1997, she also organized a large gathering of youth from the eastern region of the country. This was addressed by Atal Bihari Vajipayee, the former Prime Minister. She was a humane figure who tirelessly organized relief materials and performed collection work in the aftermath of the tsunami and earthquakes that struck Gujarat, Kashmir and other parts. She also visited the Andaman and Nicobar Islands to review the rehabilitation efforts of those affected by the tsunami.
