Nathalie Schneitter, a professional Swiss mountain biker, was born in Lommiswil on 19 June 1986. She has won many Swiss national titles under elite and junior categories, and, more importantly, a gold medal under-23 at the 2008 European Mountain Bike Championships. Schneitter was also given the opportunity to represent Switzerland at the 2008 Summer Olympics. She later rode professionally for five seasons under an exclusive sponsorship agreement with the Colnago Team.
Schneitter wanted to be a member of her second Swiss team at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. However, she was severely injured in a bike accident that left her out of contention for the Olympic Games in La Bresse. She also affiliated with her former rival Lechner to lead Italy’s Colnago-Fabre- Sudtirol for three more seasons, as her exclusive contract with the team was officially renewed until 2014.
Shortly after the Olympics, Schneitter signed an exclusive sponsorship contract with Colnago-Cap-Arreghini Team for two additional seasons, followed by her short stint on Colnago-Arreghini-Sudtirol in 2010. That same year, she beat Eva Lechner, an Italian rider, to win the gold medal in women’s cross country at Champery’s fourth stage of the Nissan UCI MTB World Cup. She then signed an exclusive sponsorship contract with Colnago-Cap-Arreghini Team for two additional seasons. In 2010, she was back on Colnago-Arreghini–Sudtirol. Later, her mountain biking success continued when she won silver for her Swiss team in the mixed team relay at UCI World Championships.
