Narahari Acharya (Nepali,nrhri,aacaary), a central member in Nepali Congress, was elected Minister of Law, Justice, Constituent Assembly, Parliamentary Affairs and Peace and Reconstruction under the Sushil Koirala-led government.
He is a member the 2nd Nepalese Constitution Assembly. He was elected Kathmandu-5 in the 2013 Nepalese Constituent assembly election by the Nepali Congress.

Acharya was involved in politics, joining the Nepali Congress in 1968. However, he took the party membership only in 1997. He was elected to the National Assembly as a member in 1992. In that year, he was also appointed Minister for Law, Justice, Constituent Assembly, and Parliamentary Affairs.
With 13,245 votes, he won the 2008 Nepalese Constituent assembly election from Kathmandu-5 constituency. He defeated Ishwor Pokhrel, Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist), general secretary. In the course of his political activities, he was also imprisoned for one year.
