He grew up in Ludus orphanage until he was 15, when he graduated from secondary school. Moldovan is a Gypsy. He was left in a groove three days after his birth. From a young age, he was very interested in music. He moved from Ludus to Targu Mures, and enrolled in a preselection school for the Scoala Populara De Arta singing section. Moldovan tried to commit suicide in February 2015 by taking painkiller pills. Interviewed by Cancan, a Romanian newspaper, Moldovan woman stated that she cried all night and couldn’t sleep. She was like a little child. It was difficult for her to cope with grief and emotions alone, so she took painkiller pills. She is lucky to be alive. She knows she could die this night. She is very confused. If she has power, she will decide if she will end her life. No one can judge her.

Naomi performed at the Mamaia Music Festival 2008 with “Salcia”, a song written by Ionel Tudor and Naomi International. She also released a jazz CD in the fall of 2008. In 2008, she was awarded for her work in promoting transgender, lesbian, gay and bisexual culture. Moldovan represented Romania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014. She performed her song “Daca tu iubesti”, written by Rares Borcea, and composed by Jimi Leco. It placed 10th out of 12 and scored 3 points. She failed to pass the Eurovision Song Contest’s national preselection in 2015. This was reportedly due to Madalin Voicu, her frequent collaborator, who was not part of this year’s jury. Moldovan, via her Facebook account, announced in late 2015 that she would send two songs she had already completed, “What’s going on” and “Sai-ti spun ce simt for noi”, to the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 preselection shows in Italy, Switzerland, Norway, and Sweden. “Sa-ti spun ce simt for noi” was composed by Moldovan, with Marius Constantin handling production.
