Nacer Barazite (born 27 May 1990) is an international footballer from the Netherlands who plays for Buriram Uni in the Thai League 1. Barazite is able to play as either an attacking midfielder, or a striker. Barazite has also played for English clubs Arsenal & Derby County, and Holland’s Vitesse Arnhem. Barazite also played for FK Austria Wien, Monegasque club AS Monaco and the Netherlands U21 Football Team.

Barazite was a part of Arsenal’s preseason campaign 2008-09. He scored for Arsenal in a win against Barnet in a friendly at Underhill in July. Barazite joined Championship side Derby County on 19 August 2008. The loan was initially extended until the end, but it was extended until the end. Barazite won Man of the Match when Derby won their first game in less than a year. He was not on the bench at half-time. Barazite was instrumental in the win by 2-1 and helped to set up the winner in the final minutes. His loan at Derby County was extended to the end of 2008-09 season. It was confirmed on 29 December 2008. In a 4-1 win at Blackpool, he scored his first goal for Derby.

Barazite again featured in Arsenal’s preseason campaign for 2009–10, scoring a third time for Arsenal in a 2–2 draw against Barnet in a pre-season friendly at Underhill on 18 July 2009. Barazite was involved in Arsenal’s 2–0 win over West Brom in the League Cup where he replaced Armand Traoré in the 69th minute of play. He then suffered a shoulder injury which kept him out of the game for four months.

On the transfer deadline, he joined the Dutch club Vitesse Arnhem on loan for the entire 2010–11 season. On 11 September 2010, he made his debut, making his first start, in a 1–0 loss against Heerenveen. In the third round of KNVB Cup, he scored twice in a 6–0 win over Flevo Boys; followed his third in the fourth of KNVB Cup in a 3–0 win over Rijnsburgse Boys. However, Vitesse decided to terminate the loan deal in December 2010.

Barazite was a substitute for Eduardo da Silva in the match against Sheffield United, which took place on 31 October 2007. He also made his second appearance as a substitute for Mark Randall in Arsenal’s League Cup quarterfinal against Blackburn Rovers. However, after just 17 minutes, he was taken off the pitch with a dislocated shoulder and was replaced by Fran Merida.

Barazite was born in Arnhem and began his career as a youth footballer with NEC Nijmegen. Barazite joined Arsenal in 2006. He was a regular player for the Reserve and U18 teams during 2006-07. Barazite was a member of Arsenal’s academy and helped the gooners reach the semifinals in the FA Youth Cup 2006. On his return, Barazite made his first appearance since leaving Austria Wien coming on as a substitute against derby rival Rapid Wien and provided the assist for Philipp Hosiner’s winning goal. Soon after Barazite suffered a knee injury requiring surgery. Two months later, on 28 April 2013 and towards the end of the season, Barazite made his return coming on as a substitute for Hosiner near full-time in a 2–0 win over Admira Wacker Mödling. In an interview, Barazite expressed his desire to stay at the club after the end of the loan spell. On 11 May 2013, he scored his first goal after his return from injury before setting up Hosiner for the third goal in a 3–0 win over Wacker Innsbruck. The season ended with the club winning the league title for the first time in seven years.
