Walwyn was born in Road Town Tortola, and grew up in Freebottom. At the age of 14, Myron moved to Antigua, his mother’s home, to finish his secondary school education.
On 23 June, after Premier Orlando Smith announced he was stepping down, Walwyn was elected as the new President of the National Democratic Party, although Orlando Smith remained Premier. However he subsequently lost his seat in the 2019 general election.
Myron was elected to the Bar of England and Wales in 2007 and the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court Bar of 2007.

Walwyn’s prior experience in hospitality earned him a position as a senior manager at Treasure Isle Hotel & Restaurant after he returned to the BVI during the 1990s. He was 24 when he formed a partnership with Al Henley, a local businessman. They opened Big Banana Bar and Restaurant, Cane Garden Bay in Tortola. Myron founded MVW International, his hospitality management company, a few years later.
For the last 12 years, his company has operated several established businesses in the BVI including the Moorings Mariner Hotel and Restaurant, Cafesito Restaurant, Calypso Cafe (formerly Nexus Café, Bar and Grill), Charlie’s Italian Restaurant and the newly opened Ginny’s Tapas Bar.
