Morten Abel was raised near Bodo and moved to Stavanger at the age of 15. He was soon the lead singer in Catrix, which later changed its name to Mods. Two albums were released in Norwegian in 1982 and 1981. A song called “Tore Tang” was a huge hit. In 1984, a third album was released in English.
Abel released a single after Mods broke up in 1985. He formed “The September When” two years later, which was very popular in Norway. Between 1989 and 1994, The September When released four studio album. Their hits included “Bullet Me” (the first) and “Cries Like A Baby” (the second).
In 2006, Morten Abel performed at the prestigious Nobel Peace Prize Concert in Oslo.
