He had been taught traditional Bagh Printing by his father Ismail Khatri, and his mother Mrs Jetun Khatri at a young age. His family has been involved in traditional Alizarin Bagh printing since the 7th century. Because he started early in his life, most of his life was spent bagh hand block printing.
In the republic day celebration parade 2011, from Rajpath to Red Fort, was shown the tableau of Bagh prints. The complete tableau was built on live demonstration of Bagh prints. This tableau was created by Mohammed Yusuf Khatri, who demonstrated the Bagh prints craft live. The craft of Bagh print was presented to Pratibha Devisingh patil, former honourable president of India and Honourable vice president Dr. Hamid Ansari. Dr. Manmohan Singh, then the honourable prime minister, took the information about Bagh prints’ excellences and enjoyed the craft person very much.

Mohammed Yusuf Khatri used to prefabricate traditional dresses for people from different castes who lived in the Bagh block, Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh. People of different castes and families wore different dresses, such as Maroo and Jat, Mahajan, Bhil and Bhilala societies. They were identified by their dresses. Mohammed Yusuf Khatri made new designs for the urban market after 1990. Block printing was done by hand. He also designed cultural clothing. He experimented with modernity and colors in order to make the wooden blocks more popular and enduringly popular at the national and international levels. His imagination was proven true when he made craft from bamboo mat, leather, and jute. Bagh Print, in addition to cloth, was also engraved with natural colours using bamboo chick. This was the first time that colours were used on bamboo mat. No example of Bagh print of this kind has been found anywhere, regardless of its popularity. It is therefore the first example of such art anywhere in the world.
