Mohammad-Reza Bahonar, Persian: mHmdrD bhnr – born February 2, 1952 in Tehran, is an Iranian principlist politician and was a member of Parliament of Iran for over 28 years. He is also the secretary general of the Islamic Society of Engineers as well as the Front of Followers of the Line of the Imam, the Leader. He is currently a member the Expediency Discernment Council.

Bahonar was the founder of the Islamic Society of Engineers, which was established in 1991. For six terms, he was elected to the Expedency Council from Tehran and Kerman. He was also a member of the Expediency Council for 3 terms. He is a key member the conservative alliance and was considered a candidate for the position of speaker or leader of the conservative faction of parliament. Due to a deal within the conservative alliance, he later decided not to run for speaker. He then ran for deputy speaker. On June 6, 2004, he was elected the first deputy speaker with 188 votes from 259. Mohammad-Hassan Aboutorabi Fard was the other candidate for the position of deputy speaker. He is a Qazvin representative who was elected second deputy speaker with 173 votes.
