He graduated from The Lyceum School in Karachi with his A-Levels and then went on to The University of London for a Bachelor of Law (LLB). Later, he received his LLM degree from the University of Northumbria.
Nasir was a key figure in the organization of a new movement to “Reclaim Pakistan” and also played a significant role in organizing demonstrations with candles and playcards. Nasir was leading protests against terrorist in Pakistan and was detained on 5 February 2015. He was with Civil Society activists. The Karachi Police released Nasir later that day. After his release, he addressed the crowd and repeated his 15-day ultimatum that he would not stop government action against banned organisations.
He ran for the seat of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh from Constituency PS-111 as an independent candidate in by-election held on 21 October 2018, but was unsuccessful.
In June 2018, he announced to contest in 2018 Pakistani general election as an independent candidate, for the seat of the National Assembly from Constituency NA-247 and for the seat of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh from Constituency PS-111. His election campaign was titled “Hum Mein Se Aik”. Despite numerous publicity campaigns, he lost elections for both the national and provincial assembly seats by substantial margins.
After the Peshawar school attack in December 2014, which left 150 people dead, Nasir was prominent. He led the procession calling to arrest Abdul Aziz of Lal Masjid. Later, he received threats from a Taliban spokesman.

As an independent candidate in Constituency NA250 (Karachi XII) or Constituency PS113 (Karachi XXV), Nasir tried to run for the seat of the National Assembly of Pakistan, and the Provincial Assembly of Sindh. However, he was defeated after securing a paltry 259 votes for his NA seat. His National Assembly seat was lost to Arif Alvi, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Candidate, and the Sindh Assembly seat went to Samar Ali Khan. The National Assembly seat NA-250 was regarded as the most contested. The NA-250 constituency was renamed NA-247 after the 2018 delimitation.
In 2017, Nasir filed a complaint with Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) alleging Aamir Liaquat Hussain in his TV show of running a defamatory and life-threatening campaign against him. Following which PEMRA banned TV show of Aamir Liaquat. Rawalpindi police also registered a case against Aamir Liaquat for threatening the life of Nasir. Amnesty International in a letter to Interior Minister of Pakistan called on the government to take action to protect the lives and rights of activists including of Nasir due to harassment and threats by Aamir Liaquat.
