Razzaque began his career in Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC), where he was a scientist officer. He became the chief scientific officers in 2001.

Mohammad Abdur Razzaque, a Bangladeshi politician, is the current Minister of Agriculture. Since 2001, he is the incumbent Jatiya Sangsad member from Tangail-1 constituency.
