On April 18, 2011, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops announced that Edward U. Kmiec (Bishop of Buffalo, New York) would be his successor as the incoming Roman Catholic Chairman of the Polish National Catholic–Roman Catholic dialogue. This was due to Bishop Kmiec’s imminent retirement. Archbishop Wilton Gregory, Georgia’s Bishop, appointed him to the position as Chairman of the U.S. bishops’ committee for interreligious and ecumenical affairs. He was elected as the USCCB Committee on Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs Chair on November 12, 2013.
In January 2020, it was revealed that Rozanski allegedly banned the Pioneer Valley Gay Men’s Chorus from singing in a caroling concert at St. Theresa’s of Lisieux Parish in South Hadley during the Christmas season, despite a prior invitation by parishioners.
Rozanski was ordained Auxiliary Bishop in Baltimore on July 3rd 2004 and Titular Bishop in Walla Walla Walla by Pope John Paul 2. On August 24, William Cardinal Keeler consecrated Rozanski as his episcopal bishop. W. Francis Malooly and Bishop William Newman were co-consecrators. His episcopal motto was “Serve the Lord With Gladness”.

His parish assignments included visits to St. Michael Church in Overlea, 1984, and the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen, 1985. In 1985, he was named Associate Pastor at St. Anthony Church, Baltimore and in 1990 at St. Isaac Jogues Church, the same city. In March 1993, he was appointed administrator of Holy Cross Church in Baltimore and of St. Mary Star of the Sea Church. He was then named pastor in October 1993. He was appointed interim administrator at Immaculate Conception Church, Towson, in January 2000. In June 2000, he took over the same duties for St. John the Evangelist Church, Severna Park. He was then named pastor on November 28, 2000.
On June 19, 2014 Pope Francis named Rozanski the ninth bishop of the Diocese of Springfield. He was installed as the Bishop of Springfield on August 12, 2014.
