Mitch Atkins is one of the most popular and richest Baseball Player who was born on October 1, 1985 in Browns Summit, North Carolina, United States. He is believed to have been the first MLB player from Guilford County NC schools after 1964.
On July 29, 2009, he made his Major League debut against the Houston Astros. Atkins pitched in two games in late July 2009, but he would not return to the big league mound until July 9, 2010, when he pitched a scoreless 1.1-inning game in Los Angeles.
He signed a minor league contract with the Washington Nationals on February 9, 2012.
On June 3, 2013, the Atlanta Braves signed Atkins to a minor league deal. He spent the rest of the season with the AA Mississippi Braves.
Mitch was twice named the Pacific Coast League Pitcher-of-the Week. He was also a Southern League All-Star (2008) and Florida State League All- Star(2007).

Mitchell Shane Atkins, a professional American baseball pitcher for the Sultanes de Monterrey in the Mexican League was born October 1, 1985. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB), for the Chicago Cubs, Baltimore Orioles, and the Lamigo Monkeys from the Chinese Professional Baseball League.
Atkins was a high school baseball player at Northeast Guilford High in McLeansville. Atkins originally signed to Elon University but was then drafted by the Cubs at the 7th round of the 2004 MLB Draft. He is currently 216th overall.
He started his first MLB game on July 5, 2011, in a losing effort for the Baltimore Orioles.
