Although she was a promising young athlete in her discipline of the sport, financial hardship forced her to quit at 14. Rigoberto Medina encouraged her to return to competitive sport in 2011. She was successful in her return. In September 2011, she finished second in the National Polish Championship in Varsovia. This qualified her for the 2012 Olympic Games. A few weeks later, she won the silver medal at Pan American Games 2011.
