Giraudy, Hillage’s girlfriend, joined him in Gong in March 1974 as a singer, replacing Diane Stewart Bonner, who had succeeded Gilli Smyth in the previous year. Smyth was back in Gong for a portion of 1974, and Giraudy returned to the band in July. Hillage and Giraudy resigned from the band at the end 1975.

Although released under Hillage’s name, Rainbow Dome Musick (1979), a seminal early ambient album, consisted of two sides, side A written and largely performed by Giraudy and side B written and largely performed by Hillage.

Giraudy, together with Steve Hillage, reunited with Gong for various shows from 2006 onwards and the same line-up released a new album, 2032, in 2009.

Giraudy is featured on 1974’s album You as “Bambaloni Yani” (Wee voices, Chourousings (sic),), one track on Shamal (1975) & four tracks on Gong Live Etc. (1977). She also appears on the archival release Live at Sherwood Forest 75 (2005).
