She was the flag bearer at the opening ceremony for ParalympicsGB, carrying the flag at the Fisht Olympic Stadium, an honour Knight described as “a surprise”. She competed for ParalympicsGB in the slalom on 14 March, completing both of her runs, and finishing fifth, and competed in the giant slalom on 16 March, again finishing fifth. There was not any significant expectation on Knight at the 2014 Paralympics, as her target is the 2018 Winter Paralympics in Pyeongchang.

Millicent Genevieve Knight, born 15 January 1999, is a Paralympic student and athlete who competes at international ParalympicsGB level in alpine skiing with a sighted guide Brett Wild. At the age of one, Knight contracted a disease that was diagnosed at three years old. She lost most of her vision by age six. In 2012, Knight joined the Great Britain paralympic ski team and went on to compete at international-level events. Knight was the flagbearer for the opening ceremony of the 2014 Winter Paralympics. This was her first Paralympics. She was 15 years old when she competed in the Winter Paralympic games. Knight and Wild were the first World Champions of a snowsport in Great Britain in 2017. Knight was also made an Honorary Doctor of University of Kent in the same year.

At seven years old, Knight was blinded. Her mother encouraged her to take up the sport. Knight discovered sit-skier Sean Rose shortly after she had participated in the 2010 Winter Paralympics. This inspired her to pursue competitive skiing. Knight was first sighted guide by her mother until January 2013, when she lost her sight. They competed in the visually impaired (VII) races together.

Following the Sochi games, it was announced in April 2014 that Knight would participate in the Queen’s Baton Relay on 5 June 2014, carrying the Baton in Kent.
