Fujimura, a Tokyo salaryman, married Yoshikazu OMI in April 1983. A televised ceremony followed by a performance of her final single. After the reception, Fujimura announced that she was leaving the music industry to concentrate on her marriage. She now goes by Miki Omi, her married name (Wei Shen Mei Shu, Omi Miki), and has never returned to the music business.
In 1984, she gave birth to her first child, Minori Omi, currently a stage actress for the Seinenza Theater Company.
In 2008, there were plans for a Candies reunion tour to celebrate 35 years since their debut and 30 years since their epic farewell concert. Fujimura refused to take part in the concert for the sake of her family. The tour never came about, but the trio contributed pictures and essays to release a commemoration “Time Capsule” best-of album instead.
In April 1978, Candies split up at a huge concert. Fujimura, who was the concert’s namesake, was finally able to sing 51 songs.

Fujimura’s family moved to Fukushima after Fujimura was born in Setagaya (Tokyo). In 1969, she met Ran Ito (a Japanese idol) and Yoshiko Tanaka at a Summer Camp organized by School Mates. Ito and Tanaka signed contracts with Watanabe Productions the following year. Fujimura’s parents opposed her entering the showbiz, but Tanaka and Ito were able convince them to let her join them. They then joined the showbiz training organization “School Mates”. They eventually created their own unit, which they called Candies.
The trio announced in July 1977 during a live performance that they wanted to “return to normal girls” and to end their careers immediately. They announced their disbandment date in April 1977, after a press conference to calm the crowds. Fujimura received the final vocal lead position on “Wana” (Trap) in December 1977. It reached No. The single reached No. 2 on the Oricon charts. It was their highest-charting single up to the year 2000, when “Hohoemi Gaeshi”, their penultimate single, charted at No. 1.
After the group’s breakup, Fujimura restarted as a solo pop singer in 1983. Her only single “Yume-Koi-Bito” (Dream Lover) reached No. 13 on the Oricon charts and sold over 160,000 copies. The single was used as an image song for Kanebo cosmetics, which made the song even more popular.
