The Russian President Medvedev delayed the appointment of a new Russian Ambassador to Ukraine on August 11, 2009, “in view the anti-Russian positions of the current Ukrainian authorities”. On 2 March 2010, Zurabov presented his diplomatic credentials (from Russia) to the newly elected Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych.
