American ex-professional baseball player Michael Ralph Schooler was born August 10, 1962. Schooler played in Major League Baseball (MLB), between 1988 and 1993 for the Seattle Mariners, and the Texas Rangers. He attended Garden Grove High School, Garden Grove, California, Cal State Fullerton, and Golden West College.
He managed to save thirty times in 1990, which was good enough for eighth place in the league. However, his shoulder injury continued and forced him out of the first half 1991 season. He returned to the field July 12, but his injury was still affecting his arm. He allowed seven home runs in 1992. All of them tied the game or placed the opposition ahead. He had a 4.70 ERA which was his highest ERA in his career. After the 1992 season, Schooler was released by the Mariners. This allowed Norm Charlton, the Mariners’ new closer, to be released.
Beginning in 2009, Schooler was the pitching coach for the San Clemente High School baseball team, in San Clemente, CA. He has been coaching High school baseball at San Juan Hills High School in San Juan Capistrano, CA, since 2014.
His MLB debut was made against the Minnesota Twins on June 10, 1988, pitching one inning.

The Seattle Mariners selected Schooler in the 35th spot in the second round of the 1985 MLB draft.
In the second half 1988, Schooler was Seattle’s closer. He saved 15 games and struck out more batters per inning. In 1989, Schooler’s first full season, he exceeded that feat, improving his control, and placing third in the American League in saves. He was behind only Jeff Russell, Bobby Thigpen, and Bobby Thigpen. Although he was poised for another great season in 1990, shoulder stiffness forced him out of the final month.
On March 22, 1993 he was signed as a free agent by the Texas Rangers but was released on September 11 after going 3-0 with a 5.55 ERA in 17 games.
