Mike Gansey is one of the most popular and richest Basketball Player who was born on December 21, 1982 in Olmsted Falls, Ohio, United States. Michael Gansey, born December 21, 1982 in America, is a former American professional basketball player. He currently serves as the assistant general manger of the Cleveland Cavaliers (NBA) and was previously the GM of the Cavaliers’ NBA G League affiliate, the Canton Charge.

The Mountaineers’ 6 ft 4 inch (1.93 m) and 188 lb (85kg) guard became a national star during his time at WVU. Gansey and his West Virginia teammate Kevin Pittsnogle were rumored to be drafted in the first round of the 2006 NBA Draft. In July 2006, he signed as an undrafted agent with the Miami Heat. He played in the summer league but was not allowed to play in the regular season. Mike was dismissed after he contracted a serious staph infection, which severely limited his ability to play.

He played for the Los Angeles Clippers on their 2007 NBA Vegas Summer League team. After the summer league was over, he signed a contract for the 2007–08 season with the Italian team Indesit Fabriano. He played college basketball as a shooting guard for the St. Bonaventure Bonnies and the West Virginia University Mountaineers.

On September 24, 2008, Gansey was selected with the Erie Bayhawks’ first round pick in the 2008 expansion draft.

The 2005-06 season was a huge season for the Mountaineers. They were returning four of their five starting players and almost all their roster. Gansey took his game to new heights as the Mountaineers reached heights in national rankings that they hadn’t seen since the 1980s. He was scoring 18.5 points per game and taking less than 12 shots per match. He also added 5.5 rebounds per contest. Even more remarkable, Gansey shot 59.7% from field, which made him the only NCAA Division I player under 6’5″ (1.96m) among the top 50 for field- goal percentage. WVU reached the Sweet 16 in the 2006 NCAA Tournament, but lost to Texas Longhorns by a 3 pointer that was buzzer-beater.
