Michael “Mike” Disa, born February 14, 1979, is an American filmmaker, screenwriter, animator. In the mid-1990s, he began his career as an animator for Disney. He was involved in several films. He worked for several other studios, including Barnyard and Looney Tunes Back in Action. His directorial debut was with The Origin of Stitch. This 2005 Disney direct-to DVD short sequel to Lilo & Stitch was his directorial debut. He was once attached to direct a computer-animated prequel of Disney’s 1937 film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. However, he decided to leave the project due to creative differences. Disa quit Disney after becoming disillusioned. It was originally set for release in January 2010. However, its distribution company, The Weinstein Company delayed its release. Kanbar Entertainment, the film’s producer, claimed that this was a breach of an agreement. They sued The Weinstein Company in February 2010. Disa was then given six months to direct Dante’s Inferno: An Animated Epic, and Dead Space: Aftermath.
