Michael Norman Davison, born March 31, 1950, is an ex-politician in Ontario, Canada. He represented Hamilton Centre as a New Democratic member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario between 1975 and 1981, and again in 1984 to 1985.

After leaving the legislature, he opened a consulting company and wrote a column in the Hamilton Spectator newspaper from 2002 to 2002. Later, he became a political commentator on CH TV, a local station.

In November 1985, he tried again to regain Hamilton’s council seat but was unsuccessful.

In 1975, he was elected to the Ontario legislature. He succeeded his father, Norm Davison of Hamilton Centre. He won by 14 votes over Sheila Copps, the Liberal candidate in 1977. The result was confirmed by a recount. In 1981, Davison lost in a rematch to Copps.

In 1982, Davison was elected to the Hamilton, Ontario City Council. On December 13, 1984, he won a byelection to replace Copps. He beat Liberal candidate Lily Munro 100 votes. Munro requested a recount, which confirmed Davison’s victory by a narrow margin 55 votes. However, he never returned to the legislature as it was not convened prior to the writs being dropped five months later. Oddie defeated Davison by 384 votes in the 1985 election.

In 2004, Davison was arrested on three counts of criminal harassment and one count of attempting to lure a 16-year-old girl into prostitution. He rejected the terms of his bail agreement in July 2004, and chose to remain in jail during the pre-trial period. A number of Davison’s former associates indicated that they had lost touch with him prior to his arrest, and sometimes saw him “wandering downtown streets” in an aimless manner. Political columnist Eric Dowd wrote that heavy drinking played a significant role in Davison’s downfall.
