In 2010, Fukuhara began releasing conceptual extended plays. The first, Regrets of Love featured ballads. The second, The Soul Extreme EP II and The Soul Extreme EP II featured soul and R&B music. The Soul Extreme EP’s lead track, “O2”, was sung by R&B singer Ai. Her record label sold 300,000 legal copies of the song.

In early 2013, it was announced that Fukuhara signed on to be the newest frontwoman of the worldwide pop music project Sweetbox along with male singer/rapper LogiQ Pryce. The two recorded their first album Z21 in the first part of 2013 and released their first single “#Z21 (#Zeitgeist21)” in June 2013, shortly after Miho released her singles “Rising Heart”, a song used in a campaign for Coca-Cola, and “Beyond”, a song used for the anime Space Brothers.

In early 2013, Fukuhara signed on to be the frontwoman of the worldwide music project Sweetbox, along with rapper/singer LogiQ Pryce. In 2015, she set up her own record label Happy Field Records.

The album Rainbow was co-produced and penned by Fukuhara. “Yuki no Hikari”, the digital/radio single, helped to promote the album. “Yuki no Hikari”, her lowest-charting single, peaked at #50 in Japan Hot 100. The album reached #2 despite strong label backing. It was only beaten by Kumi Koda’s 7th album, which peaked at #2. Rainbow sold nearly 100,000 copies before becoming certified gold by Japan’s Recording Industry Association. Fukuhara then embarked on the Rainbow Tour 2009 which featured six shows in multiple cities. She performed covers and original Rainbow songs, as well as b-sides. In June 2009, she released “Hanabi Sky”, her next single. Another major hit single, it reached number 3 on the airplay charts. The single reached number 5 overall, but it only sold 26 copies. In early July, she quickly released her next single, “Let It out”, the second ending theme of Fullmetal Alchemist : Brotherhood. “Let it Out”, Fukuhara’s first major anime tie in, was also her first single to be published in three formats. It was released September 9, 2009. Although it was a bigger hit than Hanabi Sky, it still did poorly in terms both of physical and digital sales compared to her previous singles, “Love (Winter Song),” “Change”, and “Yasashii Aka”. Fukuhara released three singles prior to Music Is My Life (2010)’s release: “Nande Nakitaku Nacchau Nacchau Nacchau Nacchau Nacchau Nacchau Nacchau Nacchau Nafchau n Daro”, “Mirai”, and “Moshikashite”.
