Adrian Miroiu was also the editor of the first comprehensive textbook on political terms that is specific to 1990 democracy. Retro Society was published in 1999. It is a study in which the author analyzes the political and ideological tendencies of the postcommunist period as a “conservatorism cocktails”. This includes a dominant combination of conservatism of left and Socialists. These are well-supported by the majority of the electorate in deindustrialisation conditions, loss of job and status, and the right. Politically, PNL (Partidul National Taranesc – National Party of Peasants), the historical political parties in Romania, and PNL (Partidul National Liberal –National Liberal Party of National Liberal – National Liberal Party of National Party of Peasans) were also dominate in the main offer of public intellectuals. She claims that post-communist Romanian policies oscillated between two conservatorisms, the left and right. Both are atypical and distinct from the Western Conservative tradition. The left-leaning conservatism seeks organic growth in the market economy within the centralised state. It also wants the birth of decentralisation and democracy in totalitarianism. The right conservatism has several faces: Liberal, traditionalist, paternalistic or new straight-crypto-conservatism. These conservatorisms have two main components: maintaining the status quo, and feeding “tendencies to exclusion or social marginalization for certain categories of people”. She began theorizing about the left and international conservatism at the 18th International Congress of the Science Association policy in 2000. She publishes “The road to autonomy” in 2004. It is the first book on feminist political theories by a Romanian author. Mihaela Miroiu analyzes the development and orientation of feminist movements and theories, including Romania, in this context. Mihaela Miroiu disapproves of the notion that communist feminism can be discussed, given that feminism has a common goal, regardless of its orientation. Open, pluralistic societies are the only place where feminism, including ideology and political movement is possible. Communism is a state patriarch that seizes the autonomy of all citizens. Communism, according to the writer, has legitimized and consecrated the double day for women and, in Romania, took their reproductive faculties via the pro- birth policy. Post-Communism was also a return to conservative traditions of women through the huge revival of religious spirit and the political underrepresentation and conservatism of Romanian politics. Privatization made some men more attractive to the state, while deindustrialization made them easier victims of transition. Mihaela Miroiu uses “The men and women of state and market” to describe both the deprivation of the State’s ability to defend women’s rights and the contributions of women to the development and creation of the market economy. She argues that communist policies have shown that women did not benefit from liberal policies contrary to western feminist traditions. This is because they were left without protection in market competition while men were protected by bankrupt state enterprises with masked social insurance. The concept of “political Feminin” was created as a result the imposition in central and Eastern Europe of gender sensitive legislation. It was viewed through the eyes of international political actors (IMF, World Bank, NATO), which has been recognized as a necessity by local political actors. This book provides a comparative analysis of theoretical frameworks for political feminism and the analysis of gender relationships in Communism and postcommunism. It also includes unliberal democracy through international conferences and scientific publications.
Miroiu was a significant contributor to educational reforms in philosophy teaching after the fall communism. She was the coordinator of the 1993 Reform Manual, which was re-edited seven years later. She was the coordinator of Civic Culture, which was the first high school civic culture manual. Democracy, Human Rights. 1995 was the year of tolerance. The analysis of education policies is covered in other publications: Romanian Education Today 1998 (in collaboration Gabriel Ivan and Vladimir Pasti, Adrian Miroiu), and the analysis of gender-related education policies through international research grants The Gender Dimension of Education in Romania Institute for Advanced Studies Vienna (2001), Case Study on Gender Sensitive Educational Policy and Practice (SNSPA (2003), and the Guidelines for the Promotion of Gender Equity in Higher Education in Central & Eastern Europe (2003).
She wrote a book of consenting feminist ethics, about nature, women and morals in 1996 and developed a theoretical insight into ethics through the theory of convenience. This philosophical perspective on morality encompasses “as a particular approach in the context of feminist ethics, but through the type of argument, it approaches many other theoretical perspectives on morality: Kantianism, utilitarianism, ethics of Rights, Rawls’ theory of justice and its feminist criticism, the ethics of concern “. The Convention comes from Latin (agree,-come,-ventum,-coming) and means to come together, to come from all sides, to meet, to agree, to fit, to be understood; But the concept rests on the component of identifying the moral subject – “we” – “which must be well defined – because in the traditional, hidden, and deeply dissimulated approaches” we “was a cultural construct, which concealed the hegemony itself – particularly the domination of male rule models of normativity “. In the first part of the book, Miroiu departs from feminist theological approaches, strongly with interpretations leading to the inferiority of women and physical opposition to the spirit and the letter of the Evangelistic sacred lessons, deprived of the most misogynistic messages, on the contrary, loaded with egalitarian messages and a significant strongly on the attitude of women around Christ and Christ towards women. Leaving this place, she resumes the discussion in the context of secular ethics, remembered at first, partially criticises the rational perspectives and the ethics of concern and offers a “convenience” interpretation, advantageous to the others because it can be applied not only between people, but also between people and non-human beings, by virtue of the fact that rational choice and empathy allow us to be morally both as members of the human community and as members of the biotic community.
