Love posted on her Twitter account on 29 November 2012 about her forthcoming clothing line: “From here on [the band name Courtney], Hole has died”. This implied that she was leaving Hole and performing solo with Scott Lipps, Shawn Dailey, and Larkin. In the winter of 2013, she planned to release Died Blonde, her new album.

Love and Larkin announced via NME’s webblog the reunion of Love’s ex-band Hole on 17 June 2009. Eric Erlandson, former guitarist of Hole, was replaced by Larkin on the lead guitar. Melissa Auf der Mau, former bassist of Hole, and Eric Erlandson claimed that no reunion was possible due to the 2002 contract Love and Erlandson had signed. This contract stated that neither Love nor Erlandson could use the name Hole without mutual consent. However, Hole’s reunion went ahead regardless. Nobody’s Daughter, Hole’s fourth studio album was produced by Larkin as co-producer, and main co-writer. He also added parts to songs like “Pacific Coast Highway” or “Samantha.”

Larkin was the son of Irish parents and was born in Hammersmith. He formed the band Larrikin Love in 2005 with Edward Larrikin, Alfie Ambrose, and Coz Kerrigan. NME magazine describes the band as being part of the “Thamesbeat” fictional scene. They have released one album, The Freedom Spark, and six singles. After the members of Larrikin Love began other musical endeavors, Larrikin love disbanded in May 2007.

Since 2017 he has played guitar with Liverpool-based rock band Darlia.
