Michelle Huneven, born August 14, 1953, is an American journalist and novelist. Huneven was raised in Altadena by a Jewish family. She returned home in 2001. Huneven received an MFA at the Iowa Writers Workshop, University of Iowa. She also attended the Methodist Claremont School of Theology.

Huneven is co-author of the Tao Gals’ Guide to Real Estate (Bloomsbury 2006.) This guidebook and narrative for women buying homes includes a section on how to buy them. Her essays were published in the following anthologies – Horse People, Dog is My Copilot, The Knitter’s Gift, Death by Pad Thai and Mr. Wrong.

Blame, her third novel, was nominated for the National Book Critics Circle Award in fiction. The story follows the life of a young historian who accidentally kills two people while drunk driving. Farrar Straus and Giroux published her fourth novel, Off Course in April 2014.
