Michelle Dilhara is one of the most popular and richest Actor who was born on May 1, 1996 in Ragama, Sri Lanka. She taught English to many children in orphanages in Sri Lanka. Dilhara was soon an actress and many photographs of her were published in magazines. She has been featured in numerous occasions at luxurious hotels in Sri Lanka. After seeing the magazines, a child at the orphanage asked Dilhara about luxurious hotels. The little girl said she would never be able go to a hotel such as this. Dilhara invited the child and all her friends from the orphanage, to the Cinnamon Grand Hotel Sri Lanka on her 21st Birthday.
Michelle organized a campaign in 2016 with Manusha D.Navarathna (an active environmental activist) to reduce Environmental Degradation related to Climate Change. Dilhara believes that plastic is the most important object that impacts Climate Change. For three consecutive days, the campaign took place at Negombo’s beach premises to get rid of all the plastic items that were found on the beach. They were able remove plastic bottles, trash, and other objects that could pollute the environment.
In 2017, Dilhara was featured in the Maliban tea advertisement with the leading role that became very popular as Maliban tea ( Maliban Biscuit Manufactories Limited ) advertisement girl among the Sri Lankan audience. In 2018 she also starred in the Maliban Tea second commercial with once again the leading role.
In 2017 she wanted to change the focus of the youngsters to support poor to stand on their feet rather than wasting time on video games. She had a vision that if one person supports a poor person, with a kilo of rice, there will be at least 20 million kilos of rice for the poor. She organized a campaign for her 22nd birthday and she was able to get the support of more than one thousand youngsters for this project. They collected more than one thousand kilos of rice and gave them to the needy in Pinnakalewattha village.
Dilhara’s first appearance on teledrama was in Salsapuna, which was telecasted by Sirasa TV in 2016. Drama was created in middle class settings that featured love triangles and plot twists as well as character changes. Sandya Mendis (Chairman of Susila Productions) auditioned her for the role of Podi Patharakari in Salsapuna. Dilhara, who is well-known to the audience as Podi Pakarari, was chosen for Preethiwa after several auditions. In the 252nd episode of 577, the character was introduced. Preethiwa Patharakari, a wealthy girl, visited her home country after she had completed her London higher education with the intent of studying journalism. Nilhan’s girlfriend, Podi Patharakari, was the inspiration for the character Podi. She is a journalist, who quit her luxurious life to live a normal life fighting injustice. Dilhara stated that Damitha Abeyratne and Rohana Beddage supported her portrayal of the character. Nalan Mendis, a veteran director, directed the teledrama. He also directed Doo Daruwo which was one of the longest running and most loved teledramas in Sri Lanka. She also appeared in the lead role in Dhara, the first Mobile drama produced by Susila Productions.

Dilhara was born in Ragama (Sri Lanka) on May 1, 1996 to H.Premawardena and E.Jean Stella Fernando. Mishen Prasadika is her sister and Rochelle Fiona is her brother. Dilhara attended Negombo South International school until she completed her GCE Ordinary Level. She sat for the exam as a private candidate. She began Martial Arts and Katate-do–Shitokai at the age of 11. She won medals at several Karate championships, both local and international. The International Gojuryu Karate Association’s 2nd International Gojuryu Karate Open Championship gave her the gold medal. After an accident that occurred when she was 15, she began volunteering to teach English in several children’s homes. She was inspired to become an actor and humanitarian by this experience. Dilhara finished her GCE Advanced Level (English Literature, Japanese Language, and IT) at Newstead Girls College Negombo. She was able participate in dramas that were conducted by the school drama group, which gave her first experience of taking part in a drama. She also passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Test ( JLPTN5 and N4 ), which was administered by the Japanese Language Education Association, Sasakawa Centre Sri Lanka.

In 2017 Dilhara appeared in the Sri Lankan television series Emy Teledrama as the leading role Emy. The TV series was Directed by Sanjaya Nirmal and produced by Malathi Wijesinghe. The teledrama started airing in 2019. Dilhara plays the role of a fifteen-year-old girl named Emy, who was born and raised in UK. But due to some issues in her family and her bad health condition, she visits her grandmother in Sri Lanka, portrayed by Hyacinth Wijeratne, to spend her last few months. The drama includes another five characters who have extraordinary capabilities.

Dilhara won the Asia Inspiration Award 2018 for the category of philanthropy at the second South Asian Youth Summit held in Colombo. Michelle Dilhara received the award from Minister of Youth and Sports government of Malaysia , Syed Saddiq for the philanthropic work involved with Social invisibility. The event was organized by the International Youth Committee (IYC), an organization that supports the youth around the world. IYC chooses 30 youth from Asia who would be the next leaders in Asia. Over 450 delegates from more than 80 countries, including the SAARC observer nations, took part in the event. Dilhara was into social welfare since she was teenager. In an interview published in the Daily News, she said that she is happy if she can help someone smlie, share a few kind words, or lend a helping hand to those who need.
