Michela Alioto-Pier is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on April 29, 1968 in San Francisco, California, United States. Michela Alioto–Pier, a US politician, was born April 29, 1968. She served as a member of San Francisco’s Board of Supervisors between 2004 and 2011. She is a Democrat and represented the 2nd District, which includes the Marina and Pacific Heights neighborhoods. She was previously a member the San Francisco Port Commission. Gavin Newsom appointed her to the Board of Supervisors in 2003, after he was elected mayor. Newsom was originally appointed to the seat by Willie Brown, former mayor.

Alioto-Pier declared shortly after that defeat that she would run again in 1998, but pulled out of the race to be more in line with Mike Thompson, a fellow Democrat and eventual winner. She ran instead for the office California Secretary of State, winning the Democratic nomination but losing to Republican incumbent Bill Jones. In 2002, she ran again for Secretary of State, but was defeated by Kevin Shelley (a fellow San Franciscan), who was also the Democratic nominee. Shelley is Alioto-Pier’s grandfather and served as that city’s mayor.

On July 20, 2009, San Francisco Chronicle political columnists Phillip Matier and Andrew Ross broke the story of Alioto-Pier’s announcement for state insurance commissioner.

Alioto-Pier challenged the ruling from the Department of Elections in Superior Court and won. In response, City Attorney Dennis Herrera, appealed that decision and overturned her victory, forcing her out of the 2010 election for District 2 Supervisor.

Alioto-Pier, who had previously worked as an aide for Vice President Al Gore in California’s 1st Congress District, made her first attempt at public office at age 28 against Frank Riggs, a Republican congressman from California. This district included Napa, Mendocino and Humboldt counties along the coast to the Oregon border. Although she won the Democratic nomination, she lost the general election. Her campaign was strong despite her loss. She ran at the time under the name Michela Alioto.

Although even numbered districts were not slated for an election until 2006, an off-year election was held for District 2 because she was an appointed supervisor. Alioto-Pier ran for the seat in the November 2004 election and won, and in 2006 she ran for reelection and easily won the seat.
