After serving in various roles at ICG and GlobalServe, Rockwell Corp and ICL, Goupil, Tricord and ICL, Fujitsu Tobin was appointed Sales and Marketing Director at Redbus. In 2003, Tobin was named CEO and led the merger of rivals Redbus and Telecity. Tobin was appointed CEO of TelecityGroup in 2006. Michael implemented Telecity’s ‘gold-standard’ membership in the Green Grid global consortium and helped Telecity achieve the Carbon Trust Standard for 2010; it was the first data center operator to do this.
Tobin and Tony Hawkhead, CEO, Action for Children, started the CEO Sleepout UK charity initiative in 2014. CEOs are encouraged to sleep on the streets with children to raise awareness of the problem of homelessness.
