Michael Musto (born December 3, 1955) is an American journalist who has long been a prevalent presence in entertainment-related publications, as well as on websites and television shows. Musto was a columnist at The Village Voice where he created the La Dolce Musto column about gossip, nightlife and reviews. He also interviewed people and made political observations. He is the author of the books Downtown, Manhattan on the Rocks and a collection of selected columns published under La Dolce Musto. His next collection, Fork on the Left and Knife in the back, was published in 2011.

In Cyndi Lauper’s remake of “(Hey Now), Girls Just Want to Have Fun” (1994), he was seen in drag wearing a blue dress. He has appeared in cameos on TV on the Radio videos, Sharon Needles, Jinkx Monsoon and Larry Tee.

In 2001, Musto appeared in a groundbreaking ad campaign for Fortunoff in which he sported a wedding veil, campily promoting the possibility of same-sex marriage.
