1981. He won the World Series of Poker $50,000 Players Championship in 2012, and 2018. Mizrachi has also won two World Poker Tour titles and finished 5th at the Main Event of 2010 World Series of Poker. Mizrachi joined Lock Poker as a team professional in January 2013.

Mizrachi is the father of three children, Paul William (named in honor of his grandfather), Julie Malka (“queen”) in Hebrew and Joseph Mizrachi. He lives in Hollywood, Florida. A motor home he bought with his poker winnings was used to keep his family close while he was traveling. However, he eventually sold the vehicle as its value was declining. Mizrachi was placed under a federal tax lien for $339,711 in early 2010 to collect unpaid taxes relating to his earnings between 2005 and 2007. Mizrachi had also two Florida residential properties foreclosed, including the condominium he shared with his brother Robert. His wife Aidiliy Mizrachi divorced Michael in 2016 due to irreconcilable differences.

In 2011, Mizrachi just missed winning another WSOP title when he took 2nd in the $2,500 Omaha/Stud Eight or Better event for $158,148.

Mizrachi was fifth at the World Poker Tour’s World Poker Open in January 2005. He played alongside Scotty Nguyen and Daniel Negreanu. He won the first prize of $1859,909 at L.A.’s next month. Poker Classic saw him defeat Erick Lindgren and Ted Forrest at the final table. He finished 11th (out of 452 participants) in the $25,000 WPT Champion.

However, he was eventually eliminated by Jonathan Duhamel, the eventual winner. Despite his excellent performance at the 2010 WSOP Frank Kassela was awarded Player of the Year based on the existing scoring system. Some felt Mizrachi’s year had been better. This led to a refinement in the scoring system. The success of Mizrachi in 2010 led Norman Chad, an ESPN poker analyst to label it “The Year of The Grinder”.

At the 2011 WSOPE, Mizrachi won his second bracelet in the €10,400 No Limit Hold’em (Split Format) by defeating Shawn Buchanan in heads up play, earning €336,008.
